VALHALLA at the 2nd BECOME PV Workshop on the Future of Emerging Photovoltaics

The VALHALLA project took part in the second Edition of the BECOME PV Workshop on the Future of Emerging Photovoltaics, organised by EERA – The European Energy Research Alliance, held on 2–3 December 2025 in Brussels.

This event brought together key actors in emerging photovoltaics, with insights shared by organisations including Oxford PV, Heliatek, TotalEnergies, Fraunhofer IIS, Institut Photovoltaïque d’Ile-de-France (IPVF), TNO, imec and SolarPower Europe, among others.

As sponsor of this second edition, VALHALLA contributed through a dedicated session presenting research carried out within the project. The session featured contributions from project partners:

  • “Valhalla: scalable methods for eco-designed vacuum-deposited single junction perovskites”
    Melodie de l’Epine, Becquerel Institute

  • “Cradle to cradle LCA of perovskite”
    Peerukhan Khan, Université de Liège

  • “Scalable vacuum deposited perovskite processes: at what cost?”
    Ian Paul Kenchington, Becquerel Institute

  • “Environmental impacts, recycling, manufacturing costs… policy levers for Valhalla-type perovskites”
    Melodie de l’Epine

In addition, VALHALLA was featured in the Wednesday afternoon session with presentations by Henk Bolink from Universitat de València, Peerukhan Khan from Université de Liège and Melodie de l’Epine from Becquerel Institute.

This workshop marked the last major event for VALHALLA before the official end of the project, providing an important opportunity to present results and exchange with the European photovoltaic community.
